Nissan has launched the diesel-powered Titan XD at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show, claiming it challenges the full-size pickup segment with its bold new design and strength, and we’re inclined to nod our heads in agreement.
The 2016 Nissan Titan XD uses a unique frame and chassis to handle its powerful Cummins 5.0-liter V8 Turbo Diesel and expand its towing and payload potential. Everything about the new truck is stronger, tougher, and more durable—it would scream heavy-duty at you, if it could scream, but we imagine that V8 Turbo Diesel sings a deeper and rougher tune.
When properly equipped, the Titan XD will offer a maximum payload of more than 2,000 pounds and a maximum tow rating of more than 12,000 pounds, along with snow plow capability and numerous available towing aids (incl. Integrated Trailer Brake Controller, Trailer Sway Control, Tow/Haul Mode with Downhill Speed Control, and Trailer Light Check system).
For all the details, and there are many, check out the official press release. In the meantime, we’ll be impatiently waiting for the 2016 Titan XD at Nissan of Lake Charles!
