Lake Charles Pit Bull Rescue

The Lake Charles Pit Bull Rescue is one of our nearest and dearest charities here at Nissan of Lake Charles. The organization is a nonprofit that rescues pit bulls (and other “pit bull-type” dogs) and adopts them out, because the local shelter and other area shelters won’t.

Rescue and adoption aren’t all Lake Charles Pit Bull Rescue does, though. They’re also involved in training their pit bulls as therapy dogs through the Positive Pit Project, which is especially active in providing therapy dogs to veterans. LCPBR works with Team Halo and Eylsa’s Purpose to fight animal cruelty cases as well.

The organization is extremely dedicated to their dogs and provides them with the best care possible. All dogs are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and given all their shots. LCPBR even takes them for surgeries at the LSU Veterinary School of Medicine, which has included heart surgery, MRIs, and cancer treatment.

Support from Lake Charles Pit Bull Rescue doesn’t end when you adopt your dog. Part of the adoption fee goes to a training session with the organization’s trainer, and LCPBR is happy to continue helping after the adoption when needed.

The organization also helps the community by building fences and providing training workshops. At Nissan of Lake Charles, we’re glad to share a town with a group that does such incredible work.

Nissan of Lake Charles Salutes Nissan Canton Plant’s Donations to United Way

Nissan has always been a strong supporter of amazing programs like the United Way, and we here at Nissan of Lake Charles would like to give thanks to our Nissan family members at the Canton, Mississippi plant. Together, along with Nissan’s help, they have pledged more than $354,400 to the United Way!

Vice President of Manufacturing for Nissan’s Canton plant said “One of the privileges of being on the Canton team is the opportunity to support United Way and other community betterment organizations. We do that through our contributions as well as employee volunteerism and it makes me especially proud to work with a group of employees that are so generous and supportive of helping others in the community…”

It warms our hearts at Nissan of Lake Charles to hear about the amazing efforts our fellow Nissan teams are striving for in order to better their communities and our world as a whole. If you would like to donate to the United Way, you may contact them on their Take Action page. Again, Nissan of Lake Charles would like to offer our thanks and congratulate Nissan Canton assembly plant for their continued efforts and for leading all of us by example in making our world a better place!

Nissan supports Habitat for Humanity projects in Gulf Coast

Nissan is now in its sixth year of contributing to Habitat for Humanity, the international non-profit organization focused on building affordable housing for those in need throughout the United States.

Nissan’s partnership with Habitat for Humanity began five years ago, following the devastation of the 2005 hurricane season. It started with an annual donation of $1 million dollars. By 2011 that dollar amount had more than doubled, with the company giving $2.5 million to support sustainability, building efforts, training and awareness. To date, Nissan has given a total of $7.5 million to Habitat projects and sponsored the construction of 50 homes.

In addition to monetary donations, Nissan assists the organization by donating vehicles and encouraging Nissan employees to volunteer. 5,000 Nissan employees have helped with construction projects since the partnership began; last year, Nissan donated 50 Titan trucks to support rebuilding efforts in the Gulf Coast region.
