Nissan works to restore 1996 Nissan Maxima

Not
too long ago, we wrote about how Nissan purchased a used 1996 Nissan Maxima GLE
off Craigslist from a rather creative seller by the name of Luke Aker. In case
you didn’t catch our last article, Mr. Aker created a rather marvelous YouTube
video about just how amazing his 1996 Nissan Maxima was, and why for the low
low price of $1,400…it was a great bargain that no one would pass up. Well,
Nissan agreed and decided to purchase the car and later teamed up with
MotorAuthority to decide what fate now laid ahead for the infamous 1996 Nissan
Maxima. And what was their decision you ask? Well, the winning idea was to not
only restore the car to its “brand new” condition and put it on display in no other
than the Nissan North America headquarters in Franklin, TN. On top of that, Mr.
Aker’s original YouTube video will be playing on loop nearby. Although
restoration on the car hasn’t quite started yet, we couldn’t think of a more
fitting resting place for such an iconic car; and its very own viral video
which you can check out below! Let us know what you think of the video, or, if
you own or have owned a 1996 Nissan Maxima we here at Nissan of Lake Charles
would love to hear your favorite stories about it!
