Nissan has confirmed plans to make its “Easy-Fill Tire Alert” system available on all upcoming 2013 models. The safety feature makes filling tires with air a simple process, and it already available on the 2013 Nissan Altima, 2012 Nissan LEAF and 2012 Nissan Quest models.
Many vehicles on the market have tire pressure monitoring systems, but Nissan has taken it a step further. Not only will the Easy-Fill Tire Alert” system alert drivers when their tire pressure is low, but it will also assist them in filling it up.
First, the vehicle will alert the driver of low pressure and some models are able to display the specific tire and pressure on the center display. This is where things get really impressive.
Once the driver begins to fill the tire with air, the vehicles hazards blink to confirm that the process has begun. When tire is inflated to proper pressure the horn with sound to alert the driver and if they continue to inflate the tire the horn with sound more aggressively until they stop. If the tire is over-inflated, the horn will sound once enough air is let out.
