Next-Generation Nissan LEAF Should Get 310 Miles on a Single Charge

Nissan LEAFThe Nissan LEAF has now surpassed the Prius as the most popular and ubiquitous nameplate in the hybrid/electric vehicle market. With tons of technology, standard features, and—of course—incredible efficiency, it’s no wonder customers and critics alike both love the LEAF. Now, the next-generation LEAF will take that formula to an all-new level with a range that allows the electric car to go 310 miles on a single charge.

While the Next-Generation Nissan LEAF will come farther in the future, the 2016 model currently gets 110 miles on a single charge, thanks to a new, more powerful battery. This increase is already an improvement on the 2015 model, which had a range of 84 miles. While the 110-mile range is impressive, the next-generation LEAF is sure to knock the socks off of the industry.

Nissan just premiered a prototype of the vehicle, which comes with a new electric powertrain to push that range up over 300 miles on a single charge. Obviously, an electric vehicle with the same range as a gas-powered vehicle would be quite a welcome innovation to the new car market.
