“There are three-row crossovers that are newer to the market than the Nissan Pathfinder but this stalwart model remains one of our family-vehicle favorites because of its continuing excellence in offering features that families like,” said KBB.com.
Making it on KBB.com’s list is no small feat. The automotive research company went through great pains to find the best family cars, driving two dozen vehicles for two weeks the way families would. That included using baby seats, watching movies on the rear seats, loading cargo, squeezing too many people in the third row, folding down the seats, pairing phones, and much more.
Ultimately, the 2016 Nissan Pathfinder was ranked among the top three-row SUVs money can buy. KBB.com noted the no child-seat hassle, perfect on-road manners, strong power, and “praiseworthy” fuel economy, all reasons that we’ve noticed keep families coming back to Nissan of Lake Charles for the best vehicles.

With a slogan encouraging drivers to “Go Further,” the all-new 2015 Nissan Pathfinder offers an array of upgraded features to take you anywhere. With a restyled design, tweaking under the hood, and a more comfortable interior, the Pathfinder is sure to put a grin on any driver’s face.
So, what’s new? The 2015 Pathfinder design is one of the most notable features. Although some may only notice subtle styling changes, the new model has been redesigned to be incredibly aerodynamic. Lightweight components and an advanced transmission help the 2015 Pathfinder retain 27 highway mpg, better than most competitors.
The Car Connection gave the all-new Pathfinder a thumbs-up, saying, “Two years after its transition from SUV-dom into the realm of true crossovers, the 2015 Nissan Pathfinder finds itself at home in its new segment–offering a competitive package that fits the whole family comfortably.”
While many automakers have been advocating radical new changes, the Pathfinder takes a different route. By “light-weighting,” Nissan has used aluminum and other lightweight materials where possible, and removed unnecessary weight. This means better efficiency without overhauling your typical driving experience.
In their infinite wisdom, the editors at Kelley Blue Book (KBB) have included three Nissan models in a list of the 12 very best vehicles for families. To represent 25 percent of the best family cars on the road this year is quite a feat for Nissan, and we at Nissan of Lake Charles are pleased to offer all three award-winning models: the 2014 Rogue, the 2014 Altima, and the 2014 Pathfinder.
In determining the 12 Best Family Cars of 2014, KBB editors originally selected 21 representative models across 11 different automakers. Each of these models had received top ranks in the website’s Expert Ratings for different family-friendly vehicle aspects. These aspects included safety, comfort, driving performance, rear-seat entertainment, room for child seats, and cargo space, among others.
Once these 21 vehicles were chosen, the editors relied on real families who drove these cars to offer their feedback. Based on their stories and opinions, the editors chose the top 12 victors, and the rest is history.
“Each of these vehicles was designed to fit the needs of a wide range of customers and situations, while also being family-friendly,” explained Dan Mohnke, the vice president of Nissan Chief Marketing Manager & Marketing Operations. “From Pathfinder’s more conventional family profile to Rogue’s wealth of amenities and clever cargo solutions to Altima’s ideal fusion of sportiness and practicality, the mainstream appeal of these vehicles’ designs has been borne out in robust sales numbers and third-party accolades such as these most recent awards from KBB.com.”

We here at Nissan of Lake Charles know that one of the best things about our Nissan cars, trucks, and SUVs is the interior. With their spacious cabins, convenient storage compartments for both the driver/passenger and the riders in the rear, and comfortable interior what’s not to love? But we know that not everyone loves our Nissan’s as much as we do, but this year, the judges agree with us!
WardsAuto held their third annual competition for car makes and models that sport the best interior in the industry. This year, the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder made the top ten! Going up against some tough competition from luxury makes and models like the Cadillac XTS and the Lexus GS450h to name a few of the other winners, the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder stood tall above most of its competitive similar models.
With its EZ Flex Seating System, Latch and Glide Technology, and three zone Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) is no wonder the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder was chosen for having one of the top ten interiors for both the driver and their passengers. Sporting several best-in-class ratings from its 5,000-lb towing power, passenger volume, and fuel efficiency, none of us at Nissan of Lake Charles are surprised by MotorWeek’s choice.
