Teaser Released before New Nissan Titan’s North American Auto Show Debut

The new Nissan Titan has been a long time in the making.  Nissan took a little bit of a circuitous route back to the drawing board this time—highlighted especially by the special Project Titan—but now they will finally reveal the new Titan to the nation at the upcoming 2015 Detroit Auto Show.  Nissan just released a teaser video on YouTube to promote the new truck.

The new video focuses mostly on the bones of the new truck, giving viewers a look underneath at the new frame and chassis.  Plus, there’s a sneak peek of that new Cummins V8 diesel engine—obviously, the most exciting new feature in this vehicle.  At the Titan’s North American Auto Show Debut in Detroit, we’re hoping to pry open the hood and get a better look at it ourselves.

The diesel engine will make this new Titan an even better option in the full-size truck market, which is currently finding more and more innovative ways to improve fuel economy.  While there are few details about the upcoming Titan just yet, the Cummins engine assures us it will be an affordable, customer-friendly vehicle.  Come see us at Nissan of Lake Charles to learn more.

Nissan Pulls Some Pranks with #WorldsCleanestCar LEAF

With its zero-emissions electric technology, the Nissan LEAF is already a pretty clean car, but earlier this year, Nissan showed us how it was getting even cleaner with a prototype nano-paint technology that repels dirt, oil, and water.

Now, Nissan is taking the #WorldsCleanestCar to social media with fun videos, games and interactions. In the first installment, Nissan has released “The Nissan Paint Prank” where innocent bystanders witness a paint crew “accidentally” spill paint all over the

LEAF. Lucky for them, the paint just rolls right off.

Viewers can then turn to Instagram for a fun “Guess the Mess” challenge. There, fans try to guess what liquid is being poured on the LEAF. Next, they can participate in the “Will It Stick?” game where fans can suggest things they’d like to see dumped on the LEAF and then Nissan will choose a few suggestions and try them out.

Fans can follow along with all the fun on Instagram with the hashtag #WorldsCleanestCar.

Nissan doesn’t have any plans to use this high-tech coating on production models, but is still considering it for an aftermarket option.

Will you be playing along in the #WorldsCleanestCar LEAF games?

Nissan CEO Mentions 249-Mile Range Nissan Leaf

2013_Nissan_LEAF_05In a recent interview, Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn quietly revealed something huge about the next model of the Nissan Leaf, according to the Tokyo-based website Daily Kanban. Ghosn apparently claims that an upcoming model of the Leaf would have a 249-mile range.

To compare, current Nissan Leaf models just barely crack an 80-mile range. This would be huge for the company, which explains why it might be keeping the details under wraps for as long as possible.

Ghosn said the 249-range Leaf model “could be no more than one model cycle away,” meaning it would have to be one of the very next Nissan Leaf models. This would be serious competition for the Tesla Model S, with Nissan holding a significant price advantage.

We at Nissan of Lake Charles are astounded to hear about this 249-mile range Nissan Leaf and are hopeful it could be true. While this miraculous Nissan Leaf has yet to even be confirmed, we have many current Leaf models here at our dealership for you to take home.

Adam Levine in Nissan GT-R Test Drive Video

Here’s the story: Nissan challenged Adam Levine, lead singer of pop band Maroon 5. The automaker said Levine couldn’t sing while being driven around at breakneck speeds in the Nissan GT-R.  He took them up on the offer.

In the Nissan GT-R test drive video that resulted, Adam starts out sounding good, singing the first few lines to Maroon 5’s hit single, “Sugar.” He maintains control during the first burnout. However, as soon as the GT-R gets into motion, Adam can’t help but yelp a little.

For the first half of the ride, Adam manages to stay focused, though his vocal performance is peppered with nervous laughter and also the occasional howl of delight. Pretty soon, the speed and tight handling of the GT-R immobilizes his voice and he can only utter a lyric here or there. Eventually, he explicitly concedes, “I don’t even care about singing anymore. I’m just going to enjoy this!” His face is lit up with delight. At the end of the ride, he says, “I want to do it again!”

We here at Nissan of Lake Charles are sure this is what you would say if you test drive any of the great new Nissan models on our lot.
