Over the weekend, Nissan officially released pricing figures for the 2014 Nissan cube®, which will be arriving here at Nissan of Lake Charles very soon. Although we’ll be seeing some awesome updates for the 2014 model, the prices will stay the same. That’s right—with the 2014 model, you’ll be getting more for the same great price.
So what can you expect for the 2014 Nissan cube? For starters, Nissan’s added a new exterior color option, Caspian Sea (replacing Bitter Chocolate). It also features its standout trait: the wraparound rear window. In addition, the innovative cube comes with six standard airbags and features an impressive 58.1 cubic feet of cargo space. Powered by 1.8-liter DOHC four-cylinder engine, paired with either the Xtronic CVT® (Continuously Variable Transmission) or a six-speed manual transmission, the cube throws down 122 horsepower and yields 31 mpg on the highway (with the CVT).
You’ll have the option of three trim levels for 2014: S 6MT, S CVT, and SL CVT. MRSPs for the 2014 Nissan cube are listed below:
|2014 Nissan cube 1.8 S 6MT
|2014 Nissan cube 1.8 S CVT
|2014 Nissan cube 1.8 SL CVT
We’ll let you know as soon as the 2014 model rolls onto the lot, but for now, come check out the 2013 model!
Whether it’s a tornado, a hurricane, or a typhoon, the devastation a natural disaster can cause is astounding—countless lives can be lost, homes can be ruined and whole towns can disappear. When a natural disaster occurs, everyone should put in a helping hand to help recovery efforts. Two weeks ago, Typhoon Haiyan swept the Philippines costing over 5,000 lives with the count still rising.
After the news of the Philippine typhoon spread across the world, people came together to join in the recovery effort. One of the contributors to this effort was Nissan Motor Co., who has pledged to donate 20 million yen, the equivalent of about $2 million US, to the victims of the typhoon in the Philippines.
According to a press release, Nissan will donate 10 million yen immediately to the NGO Japan Platform, an organization that is currently providing urgent rescue efforts to the Philippines. The carmaker will also provide vehicles to help with the recovery effort. This donation shows the sympathy of Nissan employees around the world.
A new Nissan plant has just been opened in Aguascalientes, Mexico. This is the company’s second plant in the town and third in the country, generating 3,000 new jobs at the plant and 9,000 indirect jobs. The facility also gave work to the team of 2,500 people who constructed it over the last 19 months.
The demand for Nissan vehicles has been consistently on the rise, and the new plant should help deliver to consumers what they want. Initial annual production for the Nissan plant will be 175,000 vehicles, helping to augment Nissan’s vehicle output in Mexico from 680,000 to 850,000, a 25% boost.
The main feature of this new Mexico Nissan plant is its multiple platform capability. The advanced and flexible technology systems enable Nissan to build vehicles from several different platforms, ensuring that it can adapt to changing consumer demand without having to rebuild an entire facility to deliver new products.
A brand new 2014 Nissan Sentra will be the first vehicle and the first model to be produced at Aguascalientes 2, but you don’t have to wait for that to get your hands on one at Nissan of Lake Charles. Stop on by to test drive one today and see why they’re turning heads left and right!
