Nissan Leaf Thinks Out of the Box to Get People’s Attention

Everyone knows Nissan is working hard on build more and more charging stations to support the growing number of Nissan Leafs on the roads. These numbers are being supplemented by new programs to introduce the Nissan Leaf into public transit systems to help congested cities such as L.A. and Portland (just to name a few) reduce on carbon emissions. Well, Nissan has constructed numerous new plug in stations although these might be a little harder to get to, unless you live in a video game!

Earlier this month, Nissan teamed up with the developers of SimCity and created the “Nissan Leaf Charging Station” downloadable content (DLC for short) available for download for the game! These new in game charging stations are detailed to look exactly like a real life station (including the iconic blue Leafs “fueling up”) and even come with a little Nissan Leaf billboard for advertising. These stations will be available to SimCity gamers for the next six months.

Although this isn’t the first time car companies have teamed up with video game developers to throw in a little hidden advertisement. But the Nissan Leaf charging station is by far the most interactive guerilla marketing tactic yet! Learn more at Nissan of Lake Charles!

Nissan Pathfinder Ranked as One of The Top 10 Best Interiors fro 2013

We here at Nissan of Lake Charles know that one of the best things about our Nissan cars, trucks, and SUVs is the interior. With their spacious cabins, convenient storage compartments for both the driver/passenger and the riders in the rear, and comfortable interior what’s not to love? But we know that not everyone loves our Nissan’s as much as we do, but this year, the judges agree with us!

WardsAuto held their third annual competition for car makes and models that sport the best interior in the industry. This year, the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder made the top ten! Going up against some tough competition from luxury makes and models like the Cadillac XTS and the Lexus GS450h to name a few of the other winners, the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder stood tall above most of its competitive similar models.

With its EZ Flex Seating System, Latch and Glide Technology, and three zone Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) is no wonder the 2013 Nissan Pathfinder was chosen for having one of the top ten interiors for both the driver and their passengers. If you’d like to learn more about the Nissan Pathfinder, check out our website or feel free to contact us at Nissan of Lake Charles!

Nissan Leaf Hits Sales Record

The Nissan Leaf would probably be the first car to pop into you head if we asked you to name an all-electric car. It was first introduced for the 2011 model year and quickly became the world’s best-selling all-electric car. In March, the Leaf made a new record, selling 2,236 units! The next closest record was in June 2011 with 1,708. And, sales in both January and February stayed steady around 650 units for each month. So, what made March so great for the Leaf? Nissan introduced the 2013 Leaf, which is less expensive, more capable, and American-made (in Tennessee). All-in-all the 2013 Leaf is an improvement over the 2012 model. The 2013 Leaf has a shorter charging time and is more affordable with a new S model. With all of these improvements, 2013 looks promising for Nissan’s initial goal of 20,000 units per year. But you don’t have to take my word for it. The latest Nissan Leaf is available for a test drive right now at Nissan of Lake Charles.
