Nissan and Nismo launches Nismo.TV on YouTube!

It’s its short history, YouTube started out as a small movie sharing website that exploded into one of the most viewed sites in the world. Pulling in close to four billion viewers online every day, and those viewers watching over 4 billion hours of video every month, there’s no denying the power house that is YouTube. To add another aspect to their channel, Nissan and their motorsport division (Nismo) have decided to add a little flare to their channels.

Nismo.TV launched on YouTube not too long ago and offers a new way of viewing the racing world to Nissan fans. Nissan.TV allows its viewer’s early viewing of new Nismo branded products, live broadcasting of Nismo races and motorsport stores, and a behind the scenes look at Nissan’s motorsport’s activities! Nissan also stated that the new and improved channel will closely follow their “GT Academy” videos, which puts a handful of hopeful race car drivers competing against one another in order to race professionally for the Nissan.

This is a big step for Nissan, Nismo, and YouTube alike! Allowing YouTube to continue to grow in the content they provide to their viewers as well as allowing Nismo to give their viewers exactly what they want, a closer look at all the action of motorsports! The Nismo.TV channel went live as of the 22nd, so swing by YouTube and check out their channel or contact us at Nissan of Lake Charles for more info, so you don’t miss out on any of the action!

2015 Nissan GT-R Rumored to get 7-Speed Transmission

Rumors are circulating that the 2015 Nissan GT -R will receive an upgraded seven speed dual clutch transmission instead of the standard six speed dual clutch. As stated these are simply rumors as of right now, but an “inside source” at Nissan revealed the new Nissan GT-R concept to a GT channel early last week.

Despite the far off release date, increased speed transmissions are becoming the new trend for new models. Models like the Range Rover Evoque recently debuted with a ZF 9-Speed transmission. Also, Chrysler will be introducing the new 2014 Jeep Cherokee at the New York Auto Show later this week which will sport the first ever nine speed automatic transmission in the US market.

Will the new transmission, Nissan is hoping the new 2015 Nissan GT-R will top off at 2.7 seconds going from zero to 60 miles per hour. Many of the top engineers are also expecting to top their old lap time at the Nurburgring, hoping for a 7 min 15 sec start to finish time.

We here at Nissan of Lake Charles are excited for the new changes coming to the Nissan GT-R. With new changes come stronger competition and a continued effort to make Nissan cars the best cars out there! Check out our website for more information on any of our fantastic Nissan models!

2013 Nissan Frontier gets minor changes, including price!

Nissan is constantly trying to bring better innovation to the fleet of models they offer, constantly making themselves more competitive and an overall better vehicle provider for our customers. We here at Nissan of Lake Charles are happy to announce the next big thing to happen to the 2013 Nissan Frontier, a price drop! Now that’s not the only thing to get excited about when it comes to the new 2013 Nissan Frontier, but a little extra in everyone’s pocket is definitely something we love to talk about!

In order to attract new truck buyers to Nissan and help snag some of the market share coming off of the ever dwindling compact truck segment, Nissan has dropped the King Cab and Crew Cab models of the 2013 Frontier by $1,270 each. This brings the starting prices to $17,990 and $22,030 respectively. This price drop is the biggest drop over the past few years, and deal you’re definitely not going to want to miss out on!

Additionally, most configurations (all except the base-model) have seen decent increases in city/highway fuel economy. By adjusting the aerodynamics of these configurations these models have see increases of 1-2 miles per gallon, a little increase but over the life of the car really adds up!
