2013 LEAF goes up against the new EPA testing system

Environmentally efficient vehicles have always been important to us here at Nissan of Lake Charles, which is why we tend to talk about our Nissan LEAF a lot. And today, we’re proud to announce the 2013 Nissan LEAF reached 130 MPGe City and 102 MPGe Highway with a 75 mile range! Although receiving a slightly lower mile range than expected, due to the new EPA testing methodology, tested on the 100-precent charge the LEAF resulted in an 84 mile range.

These new EPS testing give a more accurate evaluation of electric cars, but, Travis Parman, Director of corporate communications for Nissan of the Americas is quoted saying “This new EPA testing methodology means this is not an apples-to-apples comparison”. Parman goes on saying that the jump in mile range is caused by “”refinements made to the MY13 Leaf’s regenerative braking system, reduction in vehicle weight and enhanced aerodynamics.”

We here at Nissan of Lake Charles are proud to stand behind Nissan and their continuing efforts to make even better Eco-friendly cars for a better future.
